William H. Neal, Retired Farmer Dies in Hospital

Pt. Pleasant—William Henry Harrison Neal, 84, a retired farmer and resident of Pt. Pleasant, died in a Huntington hospital Sunday. A member of the Pt. Pleasant Mission, he was a native and life-long resident of Mason county. Son of the late Bill and Rhoda Neal. His wife preceded him in death in 1939 and three daughters preceded him. Surviving are six sons and three daughters, Otho, Otis, Gill and Henry, all of Pt. Pleasant, Gilbert of Leon, W.Va., Greenlee(Greely), Marie and Pearl Neal and Mrs. Laura Rossie all of Columbus. Other survivors are four brothers and a sister, Fred and Mrs. Grace Simpkins of Pt. Pleasant, Joe of West Columbia W.Va., Harly of Gallipolis Ferry, and Bennie of Henderson, W. Va. There are 23 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Daughters preceding WHH Neal in death were Florence (1899-1925), Garnett(1905-abt 1927) and Hellen (1919- before 1930).


It is thought that Florence's body (m. Joseph Krosoff) who died 21 June 1925 from complications of childbirth in Washington, PA, was shipped to Pt. Pleasant from the Frye Funeral home in PA and Helen (1919- ?) were buried in the family plot at Concord Baptist Church, Garnett (married George Manor 1922) disappeared in PA, about 1926-1927) unknown death. Garnett had 2 daughters: Betty Jean Manor and Doris Evelyn Manor.
