Meinke was born November 24, 1907 in Kramer to Anna (Maruhn) and George Meinke Sr. He married Gertrude Schlichtemeier on February 2, 1930. To this union was born a son, Robert and a daughter, Marleen. Meinke farmed and was involved with business activities in the Crete area until moving to Lincoln, where he was employed by Kings Food Host. During his life, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marleen, and his wife, Gertrude. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dee Meinke, and two grandchildren, Los Angeles; two sisters, Minnie Meinke and Martha (Meinke) Masenthin, both Dorchester; brothers- and sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Park.
