Crete and the surrounding community was shocked today to hear of the sudden death of George Henry Meinke, a prominent farmer living five miles east of Crete. Mr. Meinke had complained of no ailment and at an early hour this morning he died suddenly with apoplexy.
He was born May 7, 1864. His age was 48 years. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his demise besides a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at the Kramer church at 2 p.m. Sunday and the remains laid at rest in the Kramer cemetery.
