Obituary---George L. Wells George Lewis Wells, eldest son of James L. and Clara Moler Wells, was born February 26, 1909 at Benton, Iowa, and departed this life August 16, 1961. His entire life was spent in Ringgold county in the vocation of farming, which he loved and to which he dedicated himself. His first thought was of his family, which includes his wife, Marie; two daughters, Carolyn Greenman of West Des Moines and Sue, of the home; a son-in-law, Carlton Greenman, and one granddaughter, Pamela Sue. His parents and a sister preceded him in death. Besides the immediate family, survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Hogue, of Kellerton, Mrs. Treva Waugh, of Lamoni, and Mrs. Edith Dillon of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Vivian, of Mount Ayr, and Raymond, of Richmond, California; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sharp, of Lamoni; nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held August 18, from the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by Elder John Lane. Bertha Midgorden sang, accompanied at the organ by Margaret Pence. Casketbearers were Kenneth Shields, Eugene Mosier, Richard Saltzman, Ivan Shields, Frank Dredge and Doyle Denhart. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Published in the Mount Ayr Record News.
