Rev. John Moran was in charge of services and Larkin Martin Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Interment was at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery .
Mr. DeSloover is survived by four daughters and two sons: Loyal DeSloover, Waucoma; Bernard DeSloover, Waucoma; Bernice Langreck, Lawler; Verda Langreck, West Union ; Katherine Langreck, Lawler; and Betty Tillman, Waucoma.
Also surviving are 41 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers: Cantellis, Mary[,] Ernest and Fance [sic - Fonce], also several nieces and nephews from Chelsea, Blairstown, Luzern, Tama, Eli, DeWitte, Rochester, Traer, Riceville, Stacyville.
His wife, the former Katherine Linkenmeyer[,] preceded him in death in 1956. They were married February 10, 1920 in Riceville. He was a veteran of World War I, and was active in the Mt. Carmel Church and American Legion.
Grandchildren attending the services came from Minneapolis , Alexander , Norway , Oskaloosa, Cedar Rapids , Marion , Waverly, Fredericksburg , Waucoma, West Union, Fort Atkinson , New Hampton, Lawler, and Elma.
Friends attended from West Union, Hawkeye, Elma, St. Lucas, Fort Atkinson , Jackson Junction, New Hampton and Waucoma.
Pallbearers were Larry, Bob, and Vicki DeSloover, and Jim, Richard, and Conrad Langreck.
