Mrs. Julia De Sloover was born at Maldegem april 7 1857 daughter of Petrus en Sophia De Vos. With her husband she came to America in 1891, settling in Moline, Ill., where they lived for six years. In 1897 they moved to Victor, Iowa, and in 1914 they moved to Riceville and settled on a farm southwest of town, where she passed away suddenly on May 25th, aged 60 years, 1 month and 18 days.

She leaves to mourn, the husband and five children, Mary of Michigan, Cantellis of Alabama, Fonce, Victor and Earnist [sic - Ernest] of Riceville. The funeral was held from the Catholic church on Tuesday, May 29th, Rev. Father O'Brien officiating, and interment was made in the Immaculate Conception cemetery.
