Amie or Amy Proctor Ward was the thirteenth of eighteen children and the tenth daughter born to Salmon and Susannah (Proctor) Ward. She moved to Wisconsin with most of her siblings and parents between 1842 and 1845.
On December 25, 1855 Amie was married to George Peter Ritter in Beetown, Grant Co., WI. Of this union there were eleven children born - Amy J, George C, Frank E, Sarah, Clara, Orris, Barbara, George P, Amie Agnes, Maggie and Charles.
Amie and George were living in Beetown, Grant Co., WI w/3 children, Amy J, George C and Frank; along with her brother Edgar Ward, his wife Amy and a boarder John Sand, at the time of the 1860 Census. But by 1880 they were living in Camden, De Kalb Co., MO, w/8 children, Sarah, Clara, Otto Orris, Barbara, George P, Amy Agnes, Maggie and Charles Albert. The first three children are not listed.
George P Ritter died in 1885 and is buried in Lindley Prairie Cemetery, Cedar Co., MO.
Their daughter Amie Agnes was married to Thomas Cheek and they lived in Cedar Co., MO
By the time of the US Census in 1900 - Amie was living in Kansas City, Wyandotte Co., KS, with her daughter Sarah, along with 4 boarders Clayton and Austin Stuart, George Norton and John Donnelly. Their residence is at 114 Summer St.; She is a widow, was married 37 years, had 11 children of which 7 are still living.
Amie married for a second time in 1905, to John Boyer, a widower. By the 1910 Census they were living at 7118 Harold St., Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO, along with her son George Ritter.
Amie was a widow again in 1916 when John Boyer, her second husband died. Her son George has passed away in 1918 and her youngest son, Charles was divorced and living with her.
