Roy Gotham
Roy Gotham died August 16, 1975 at
the age of 76 in the Potsdam Unit of the
Central St. Lawrence Health Services
following a short illness.
He was born June 14,1899 in Canton,
the son of Fred and Mary Thurston
Gotham and spent his life in Colton.
In 1919 he married Eva Seevey. She
preceded him in death in 1935.
In 1939 he married Alice O'Brien on
March 7.
He was a retired member of the Colton
Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife; four
daughters, Barbara (Mrs. John) Christy
of Medina, Mrs. Ola McCarthy of
Winthrop, Janice (Mrs. William) Hicks
of Spencerport, and Jane (Mrs. Carl)
Miller of Colton; two sons, Linton of
Colton and Lowell of Keesville; 21
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren;
four sisters, Mrs. Mable McRobbie of
Hermon, Virgie (Mrs. Percy) Hall of
Gouverneur, Mildred (Mrs. Charles)
LaValle of Framingham, Mass., and
Hildred (Mrs. Emery) Bush of Waddington.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. on
August 18 at the United Methodist
Church in Colton with Reverend Seldon
Ward officiating.
Burial was in Pleasant Mound
Cemetery in Colton.
Seymour Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements.

Leroy was married twice first to Eva Sevey, she died in 1935. In 1939 he married Alice O'Brien Fearby. There were 5 children from his first marriage & 2 children by his second wife.

Wendall Gotham B: 1927
Janice Gotham B: 1930
