I'm a retired teacher. I am also a published author and freelance writer. I reside in Rainbow Lake, NY, located in the northern reaches of the Adirondacks. I have, it seems, always felt the need to wander and muse my way through cemeteries both large (Greenwood in Brooklyn) and small (like the ones around my home). If you need help in locating a marker for a photo, etc in Essex, Franklin or Clinton Co's of NYS feel free to get in touch. Chat with me. The Autumnal Equanox is is only days away. The daylight will slowly, almost imperceptibly, grow shorter. The late-summer season is a challenging time for Gravers. Walking among the gravesites, brushing the early snow away...Hope you all survive self-isolation. Hope you had a great winter. Bring on the autumn! The quiet country cemeteries sit by the roadside and wait for the Find-a-Grave photo volunteer (me) to wander through the old stone gates and begin to say goodbye to another season of searching for burial sites for so many loved ones who live too distant to water the flowers and tidy the plot. I'm armed with my camera and notebook. Contact me. I would love to hear your stories and the stories of those who are absent from your life.A note: You have my permission to use my photos...but please give me credit if you do so.
