Mrs. T. A. Dilbeck Dies At Home At Noon Saturday

Typhoid Fever Causes Death of Well-Known Greenville Lady

Mrs. Thomas A. Dilbeck died at her home on East Vine street in Greenville, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, after an illness of three weeks of typhoid fever and complications. She was aged 69 years, two months and four days.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at the Greenville Free Methodist church, the Rev. John LaDue officiating, assisted by the Rev. A. M. Zahniser, the pastor. Interment was made in Montrose cemetery. The pall bearers were three brothers and three nephews, E. W., E. M., and H. S. Halford, brothers, and E. E. and W. E. Halford and Frank Sanders, nephews.

Mrs. Dilbeck’s maiden name was Martha Caroline Halford and she was born near Ramsey August 5, 1857, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. B. Halford. On October 31, 1879, she was married to Thomas A. Dilbeck in Fayette county and he survives her.

In 1898 the family moved south of Greenville and lived here three years. Ten years ago they moved to Greenville and have since made this city their home.

Mrs. Dilbeck besides her husband is survived by one son James F. Dilbeck, who is teaching in Detroit, Mich., and three daughters, Mrs. O. O. McDonough of Fillmore, Mrs. J. L. Mayhew of this city and Mrs. G. C. Mayhew of Virden. A son, Raymond, preceded her in death in 1902.

She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Haram of this city and Mrs. Sarah Sanders of Ramsey and four brothers, V. B. Halford and E. M. Halford of Bingham, E. W. Halford of Sorento and H. S. Halford of Fillmore.

Mrs. Dilbeck had been a member of the Free Methodist church for many years and was a faithful Christian woman, a devoted wife and mother.
