GEORGE BOHLKEN
George Gerhardt Bohlken was born December 12, 1884 in Preston Township, Iowa, son of Siefke and Margaret Bohlken and died in Long Beach, Calif. on May 24, 1957 after an extended illness. On Sept. 11, 1910, George Bohlken was married to Mathilda Eilers. They farmed in Preston Township for ten years. In 1920 they moved to Esteline, South Dakota with their first two children. Their third child was born in Esteline. In 1953 they moved to the community of Hendricks, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Bohlken moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1954. Here they made their home until moving to Long Beach in 1956.
Surviving are the widow at 1720 East 1st St., Long Beach, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Earl Crane; two sons Clarence and Harold: and two grandsons- all of Long Beach. Another daughter, Mrs. Helen Jensen of Tyler, Minn and five grandchildren in Tyler also survive.
Two sisters and one brother are left to mourn his death, Mrs. I. A. Salberg of Long Beach; Mrs. Annie Gabel of LeMars, Iowa and Albert Bohlken of Lisbon, North Dakota.
Father, Mother, five brothers and four sisters have preceded him in death.
Burial services were held on May 27th at Sunnyside Memorial Park in Long Beach, Calif.
