Former Residents Services Held In Cedar Falls
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 20, at the Kearnes-Dykeman Chapel at 320 Commercial, Waterloo, for Mrs. William H. Smith, 74, who died Saturday at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
Formerly Gertrude Strohecker, she graduated from the Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and taught many years in the La Porte City and Reinbeck vicinity. She was a member of the PLO Chapter and West Minister Presbyterian Church in Waterloo.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, one sister, Pearl Strohecker of Geneva, Illinois, two brothers, Ed Strohecker of Waterloo and Joe of La Porte City and two grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Burial took place in the West View Cemetery, La Porte City.
