Kathryn Louise McDermott was born on September 27, 1916, in Anthon, Woodbury County, IA, the daughter of William and Carrie (King) McDermott. She was baptised into the United Church of Christ. She received her education in Anthon, IA. She married William Hammond and they were blessed with seven children: Geneva, Norman, Shirley, Richard, Thomas, Janice and Bernice. Later in life she married Dale Chinn.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Farber & Otteman Funeral home in Wall Lake, Iowa. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, Wall Lake.
