Obit in The Correctionville News, 5 October 1989, page 3: Elizabeth Pauline "Bessie" Peters, 85, of Correctionville died Monday, September 25, 1989, in a Sioux City hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Walter Funeral Home in Anthon with Rev. Keith Hair officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Peters, the former Bessie McDermott, was born April 17, 1904, in Anthon, the daughter of William and Carrie (King) McDermott. She married Wilbur Livermore in 1920 at Sioux City. He died in 1930. She married Eddie Peters June 24, 1940, in Sioux City. He died July 14, 1967. She made her home in the Anthon community and moved to Correctionville in 1971. The last two years she had made her home with her daughter in Ricketts. Survivors include two sons, Laurence and Jim of Correctionville, a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Pauline) Edwards of Ricketts, three sisters, Angeline Chase of Sioux City, Mary Jorgensen of Anthon and Kathryn Chinn of Wall Lake, a son-in-law, Frank Wigand of Correctionville, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, three daughters, Lillian, Betty Wigand and Wilma, one son, William and one brother, Vester McDermott.
