Mrs. Katherine Plankel passed away in death Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Hilbert, 221 E. South street, a friend, with whom she had resided of late. She was 74 years of age. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Theo. Rohner at St. Peter's church at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning with interment in St. Peter's cemetery.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Schmidt and was born in Theresa in this county on June 20, 1861. Her husband, Jacob Plankel, preceded her in death a number of years ago. The greater part of her life had spent in this community, the past twelve years of it in this city.
The following brothers and sisters survive her: Mrs. Jos. Fischer, Beaver Dam; Sister M. Ercola, Bellville, Ill.; Sister Digna, St. Michael's, Milwaukee; Anna Schmidt, Ripon; Margaret Schmidt, Beaver Dam; John Schmidt, Beaver Dam, and Jacob Schmidt, Beaver Dam.
