Succumbs to Lingering Illness

Mrs. Lawrence Gocker, 903 S. Spring street, passed away in death at her home at 6:20 o'clock Saturday evening. She had been a patient sufferer with an incurable ailment for a year.

She was a daughter of Christian and Mary Schmitt and was born May 9th, 1877, in the town of Theresa in this county, but had been a resident of this city since 1881. On January 11th, 1899, she was united in marriage with Lawrence Gocker, who survives with three sons, Alfred, Lawrence and Norbert Gocker, all of this city. She is also survived by two grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Jacob Schmitt of this city; John Schmitt of the Town of Beaver Dam; Sister M. Digna of Notre Dame; Sister M. Ercola of Belleville, Ill.; Mrs. Kate Plankl, Mrs. Joseph Fischer, and Miss Margaret Schmitt of this city, and Miss Ann Schmitt of Ripon, Wis.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's church at nine o'clock Tuesday morning with burial in St. Peter's cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Theo. Rohner.
