OXFORD JUNCTION WOMAN DIED AT HER HOME TUESDAY
OXFORD JUNCTION...Final rites were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Hayden funeral heme for Mrs. John Schladetky, 80. Rev. L. J. Ehlers conducted th service. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen and Mrs. Otto Korada accompanied at the piano; by Mrs. Palmer Vaughn. Serving as casket bearers were Arthur Ahrendsen, August Ahrendsen, Henry Lorenzen, John Petersen, Herman Gutzeit and Carl Lorenzen. Interment was in the cemetery at Olin. Mrs. Schladetzky died Tuesday, May 27, at ten o'clock in the morning in her home here following a stroke, which she had suffered last week. She was born Maria Ahrendsen in Germany May 20, 1872. She came to America with her parents Lorenz and Christina Ahrendsen when a girl of fourteen. They lived in this community.
Retired In 1942
She was united in marriage to John Schladetzky at Olin. Feb. 26, 1892, and they farmed near Hale, for many years retiring to make Oxford Junction their home in 1942. She had lived practically her 80 years in this vicinity.
Surviving are her husband: three sons, Pete, Onslow: Louie, Olin: and John. Jr. Anamosa: three daughters, Mrs. Helen Larkey, Oxford Junction: Mrs. Louise Rohwedder, Wyoming: and Mrs. Anna Petersen, Colorado Springs; one sister Mrs. Louise Petersen, Olin: ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
