MRS. C.P. LORENZEN DIED SUNDAY; RITES HELD IN OXFORD JCT.
OXFORD JUNCTION...Final rites were held Tuesday afternoon, July 25, from Hayden Funeral home for Mrs. C.P. Lorenzen, 81, who died Sunday at noon at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, where she had been taken Saturday evening suffering from an internal hemorrhage.
Service was in charge of Rev. Herbert Graening of the Lutheran church, Wyoming. Singers were Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Leonard Hartwig, Olin. Serving as casket bearers were Lorenz Ahrendsen, Oxford Junction; Art Ahrendsen and Henry Rohwedder, Wyoming; John Petersen, Cedar Rapids; Herman Gutzeit and Pete Schladetzky, Onslow. Burial was in the cemetery at Wyoming.

Mrs. Lorenzen was born Emma Ahrendsen, July 13, 1869, at Horstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She came to America with her parents, Lorenz and Christina Ahrendsen, when a young girl. She was united in marriage to Carson Lorenzen and they farmed for nearly 50 years in the Wyoming vicinity. Mr. Lorenzen died in 1944 and shortly after that Mrs. Lorenzen came to Oxford Junction to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hintz. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany.
Mrs. Lorenzen is survived by three sons, Lorenz, Anamosa; Carl, Oxford Junction, and Henry, Wyoming; three daughters, Mrs. Christina Petersen, Wyoming; Mrs. Ella Larkey, Onslow and Mrs. Anna Hintz, Oxford Junction; two sisters, Mrs. John Schladetzky, Oxford Junction, and Mrs. Louisa Petersen, Olin: 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Hulda.
