Mrs Wilbur (Mable E.) Carmichael, 69, of Clarinda died early Wednesday morning at University Hospital in Iowa City where she had been for two weeks.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 pm Friday at Walker Funeral Home with Rev John Clark of the First Christian Church officiating. Mrs Rosevelyn Bashor will be soloist and Mrs Helen Hall Hoskinson organist.
Casket bearers will be Raymond Crawford, Thomas Harris, Dwight Pratt, Elvin Wells, Harold Combs, and Orval Ridnour. Burial will be in Memory cemetery at New Market.
She was born Dec 13, 1902, near Siam, the daughter of Charles and Florence Goodrich Gant. On Feb 18, 1925, she was married to Wilbur Carmichael who survives. The family home is at 215 W Nishna St.
Besides her husband, Mrs Carmichael is survived by four children, Lewis Carmichael of New Market, Mrs John (Elaine) McNeese of Bedford, Mrs Randall (Jean) Herzberg and Mrs Larry (Myrna) Karg of Clarinda. There are 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs Ernest (Ethel) Gray of Bedford, Mrs John (Alma) Bix and Mrs Lawrence (Mary) Allison of New Market.
