Mr Carmichael died this Thursday morning at Municipal Hospital after several months illness.
He was born October 16, 1906, at New Market, the son of William Clayton and Margaret McKinley Carmichael. He was married to Mabel Gant in 1925. She preceded him in death in 1972.
Mr Carmichael had been a miner in the New Market area.
In recent time he had made his home with his daughter and family, Mr and Mrs Larry Karg of Clarinda.
Survivors include four children: Lewis Carmichael of New Market, Mrs John (Elaine) McNeese, Bedford; Mrs Randall (Jean) Herzberg and Mrs Larry (Myrna) Karg of Clarinda. There are 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Brothers are Clifford Carmichael of Clarinda and Bill Carmichael of Loomis, Ca. Mrs Tressie Miller of Tacoma, Wa, is a sister.
