Mrs. Emma Jane Squires Denning, 80, of 1072 Twenty-fourth, died Tuesday at her home of cerebral hemmorhage.

Mrs. Denning was born October 5, 1866, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Henry Augustus and Emma Jane Slade Squires. She received her education in Cache valley public schools and was married to James Henry Denning March 22, 1882, in the L.D.S. Dalt Lake endowment house. They made their home in Iona, Idaho, where Mr. Denning died April 6, 1919.

She owned and operated a confectionery in Iona and for 13 years was chorister in the L.D.S. Iona ward Relief society. In 1921 she came to Ogden, where she was active in church affairs, especially genealogy, Relief society and choir in the Thirteenth ward.

Surviving are 10 daughters, Mrs. J. W. Duncan, LaVerkin; Mrs. S. R. Scott and Mrs. Olive Williams, Ririe, Idaho; Mrs. Isaac Robinson, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Myrtle and Lucy Denning, Ogden; Mrs. A. Glenn Wheeler, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Joseph Barron, Midvale; Mrs. George J. Wilson, Woods Cross; Mrs. R. G. Prout, Roy; 37 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; also two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ward, Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Grace Edwards, Los Angeles, Calif.

Services will be conducted Saturday at two p.m. in the L.D.S. Thirteenth ward chapel by Bishop Gaylord S. Taylor. Burial will be in Ogden City cemetery, directed by the mortuary, 2351 Jefferson.
