Donald Richard Allen Sr. died Saturday at Kenner Regional Medical Center. He was 69. Mr. Allen was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Mae Allen; his companion, Martha "Cookie" Williams; two sons, Ronald and Robert Allen; four daughters, Della Allen-Collins, Shener Allen, Maggie Brown and Morelda Smith; two brothers, Roscoe Allen of California and Lewis Armstrong of San Francisco; a sister, Alma Garner; 53 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Worded Up Faith Ministries, 900 Thayer St., Algiers. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Professional Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
