She was reared in the Dutton community and became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1915 under the pastorage of Rev. James N. Holmes. In 1920, she was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Hollis Barrett and moved to Grantsburg, WI.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Graham; three sisters, Fern "Jimmy", Susie Talkington and Allie Maupin; three brothers, George, Frank, and Cecil, all of Verden. Preceding Mary in death was sister, Bettie Graham. Also a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held at the Verden Methodist Church, Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. James N. Holmes of Union City, OK, officiating and interment made in the Verden Cemetery. The Hansen Funeral Home had charge of the burial arrangements. "Card of Thanks" to the dear friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us in life's greatest trial, and those who so deftly wove together the beautiful flowers, we tender our sincere thanks. Hollis Barrett, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Graham and children. The Verden News, May 17, 1935
