Born April 20, 1921 it Tuscarora, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Homer S. and Mary (Sheaffer) Rice.
Her husband, Charles Haas, survives. Also surviving are: children, Martha VanCisco, Lititz, Sue Ann Severt, Scranton; brothers and sisters, Margaret Welshonse and Dorothy Beasom, both of Port Royal RR3, Mary Jane Varner, McAlisterville RR1, Harold Rice and H. Shelley Rice, both of Port Royal RR3; six grandsons; a great-granddaughter.
She had worked at the former Rae-Sel Factory, Port Royal.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Scranton.
Services were held Friday at the Davies and Jones Funeral Home, Scranton. Interment was in Fairview Memorial park, Elmherst, Pa.
