Edward Fred Koenecke, 63, died Fri. morning [September 13, 1946] at Park View clinic of heart trouble. He has been ill for several years.
He was born March 17, 1883, in Cook county, Ill. He lived on a farm north of Estherville for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Donovan, a grandson, Terry, all of Estherville; five brothers, Henry and Frank of Dunnell, Fred and Herman of Ceylon and George of Fairmont and four sisters, Mrs. Emma Pannell, Superior, Ella Koenecke, Ceylon, Mrs. Leonard Forstrom, Fairmont and Mrs. Henry Moltzen, Fairmont.
Funeral services were held at the home at 1:15 Monday afternoon and at 2 o’clock at the Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. K.A. Horn officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, September 19, 1946)
