He was born December 27, 1880 at Jefferson, Ill., and came with his parents to southern Minnesota when a young boy. For the past 35 years he had lived on the farm where he died.
Mr. Koenecke was married Sept, 9, 1909 to Signe Johnson of Dunnell, Minn. To this union nine children were born one of whom, George, died in infancy.
He was a member of St. Joh’s Lutheran Church in Dunnell.
Survivors include his widow, six sons: Maynard, Verner, Willis, and Orville all at home. Lavern of Estherville and Earl of Welcome, Minn., two daughters: Mrs. Donald (Geraldine) Fisher and Mrs. Merton (Arlene) Roehler both of Estherville and 12 grandchildren.
Also surviving his death are two brothers, George and Herman, both of Fairmont, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Forstrom, Mrs. Henry Moultson, both of Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. Emma Pannell of Seneca.
Preceding Mr. Koenecke in death were his parents, his son, George, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Sandin Funeral home and at 2:15 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran church in Dunnell, the Rev. Paul Priez officiating. Burial will be in Lake Fremont cemetery.
