She was bom August 15, 1895, a daughter of Bert and Winifred Plaggemeyer, in a covered wagon in route from South Dakota to Montana She grew up in the Melville area. Rena took nurses training in California and practiced there and at the Big Timber Hospital for several ycars. She was married to Charley M. McComb on July 31. 1924 in Big Timber, Montana. They resided in the Big Timber, Boulder and Sweet Grass areas.
Rena enjoyed her children, grandchildren and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 18, 1963. her daughter, Mary Alice McComb in May 1943. and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Charles McComb of Winter Haven, FL, Larry McComb of Wilsall, MT and Bobby Joe McComb of Alberton, MT; a brother. John Plaggemeyer of Big Timber; two sisters, Ellen Plaggemeyer of Big Timber and Edith Howard of Great Falls, MT; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 00 p.m. at the Lowry Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Siebert of the Congregational Church officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Casket bearers were Svend Mauland. Ben Berg, Pat Pederson. Frank Cosgriff. Calvin Lavold and Kenneth Hogemark. Organist was Debbie Hedrick and soloist was Debbie Seibert. The selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Precious Memories."
