Claude W. was the son of George and Viney Milstead; Bessie Milstead told me she thought his middle name was Wilson.

This seems to be a bit bolstered by the fact his sister Maggie named her child Claude Wilson Raney...

Jimbo took a good shot of the stone; as of Walpurgisnacht 2011, the main part is all but illegible.

Mr. Claud Milstead, aged 27 years, died in Fayetteville of appendicitis on Saturday morning, September 25, 1909. Funeral service by Elds. Little and Cambron, burial at Ashby graveyard. He was operated on Thursday, but the disease had made such progress there was no relief for him. Everybody speaks well of him.

Note: Should be Claude.
