JOHN L. SCHLECHTWEG

John L. Schlechtweg, 86, died at 7 a. m. Sunday at his home 1118 Fayette. Born near Blooming Grove, November 8, 1876, a son of Frederick and Anna Schlechtweg, he had farmed in Franklin, Fayette and Union Counties before retiring in 1942.

He was a member of Brookville, Lutheran Church and Laurel Odd Fellows.

Survivors are seven children, Mrs. Lige Hunter, Mrs. Jonas Gilbert and Ed of Connersville, Mrs. Herbert Ridout of Cincinati, Mrs. Paul Finch of Liberty, William of Glenwood and Louis of Milton; a sisters Mrs. Bertha Quick, Rushville; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Rites will be conducted by Rev. Herbert Fitzpatrick at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thompson-Brown Funeral Home where friends may call beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Dunlapsville.
