Laura married Otto Glenz on November 5, 1936, in Zionsville, Washington County, Texas; Pastor Karl Mueller of Zion Lutheran Church officiated the marriage ceremony. Their witnesses were Alvin Bredthauer and Adela Gaskamp.

Laura Gaskamp Glenz, 84, of Brenham, passed away in her residence on July 16, 2000. She was born Dec. 3, 1915, the daughter of George and Minnie (Kohring) Gaskamp in the Zionsville community of Washington County, Texas. Mrs. Glenz attended Harrisburg School. She was baptized on Dec. 12, 1915 in her home in the Zionsville community by the Rev. Karl Mueller. She was confirmed March 29, 1931 in Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Karl Mueller. On Nov. 5, 1936, she was married to Otto Glenz in Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Karl Mueller. Mrs. Glenz was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She loved to cook and to try new recipes and work in her garden and yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Glenz, on March 7, 1978; parents; five sisters; and four brothers. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, May Dell and Henry Stenfield, Jr., of Brenham; sister, Adeline Kelm of Waco; sisters-in-law, Elene Glenz of Brenham and Rosella Glenz of Houston; brother-in-law, Alvin Bredthauer of Stamford, and special K-9 friend, Brittnae. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors today from 6-8 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Robert Jeske, Douglas Bostick, Rickey Gaskamp, Robert Glaesmann, Jr., Larry Glenz and Floyd Gaskamp. Memorials may be made to Brazos Valley Hospice and Zion Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
