Meta Gaskamp Glaesmann, 94, a long time resident of Brenham and the widow of Emil Glaesmann, passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997 at Trinity Medical Center at 5:20 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 6, 1997 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with the Rev. Rudy Kelling officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Viewing for Mrs. Glaesmann will begin Sunday at noon. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Glaesmann was born February 2, 1903 in the Zionsville Community, the daughter of George and Minnie (Kohring) Gaskamp. She was baptized April 12, 1903 at Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. M. Haag and confirmed March 24, 1918 at the same church by the Rev. Karl Mueller. Mrs. Glaesmann attended Hoddeville School in Washington County. On Nov. 22, 1923, she was married to Emil Glaesmann at Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Karl Mueller. Her husband preceded her in death on November 11, 1988. Mrs. Glaesmann was a housewife and a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Orville and Doris Glaesmann of Warrenton; daughter and son-in-law, Minnie Mae and Douglas Bostock of Houston; grandchildren and their spouses: Rodney and June Kelm, Candy and Dale Genzer, Trudi and Jeff Conner, Alan and Annette Glaesmann, and Brad Glaesmann and fiancee Gianna Gerber, eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Selma Klander, Laura Glenz and Adeline Kelm. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters, one son, Clarence Glaesmann, and one daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Herbert Kelm. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 509 S. Baylor St., Brenham.
