John Miller, an old and widely known resident of this city, died at the family home on West Grant Avenue on Sunday morning. The cause of his demise being a complication of diseases, superinduced by kidney trouble... The deceased, who was possibly the tallest man in the city, being 6 feet four and one-half inches in heighth was born in Mifflin township on December 20, 1864, being 59 years of age at the time of his death... During his early life worked about the mines in the township, coming to Duquesne to live thirty or more years ago. About six years ago he opened a grocery on West Grant avenue and had continued the business...He is survived by his wife, Barbara Miller, nee Bryer, and six children, namely Misses Mary, Anna, Elizabeth, Helen, and Carl at home, and Andrew, who is in the US service at Fort Bliss, Texas.
