Services for Mrs. Lula Fisher Rester, age 95 of Columbia, were held Tuesday, October 3, 1989 in the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with Dr. Wren Causey and Rev. Julius Russell. Interment will be under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mrs. Hester died Monday, October 2 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Rester was a lifelong native of Caldwell parish, a homemaker and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jeff Rester, and her grandson, Johnny Wayne May.

[She was survived by] a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Rester May of Grayson; a son-in-law, Mr. Waymon May of Grayson; granddaughters, Mrs. DeWanna May Johnston of Columbia and Mrs. Dianne May Johnson of Winnfield, La.; a brother, Mr. Sherman Fisher of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Mrs. Alda Fisher Chapman of Columbia; great-grandchildren Terry Johnston, Tonyah Johnston, Misty May, David May, David May (listed twice), Jeffery Johnson and Steven Johnson.

Pallbearers were David May, Waylon May, Marshall Fisher, Gary Franklin, Sonny Johnson, and Terry Johnson.
