Mrs. Joseph Ella Fisher died early Thursday morning at her residence in ward five. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fellowship Baptist church with the Rev. J. D. Kitchenham in charge of the services.

Interment was made in a nearby cemetery, under the direction of the Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

Pallbearers were grandsons, as follows: Arnold Fisher, Leo Fisher, Thomas Melvin Fisher, Marshal Fisher, Rodney Chapman and Waylon May.

Mrs. Fisher would have been 82 had she lived until the third day of March. She has spent her entire life in Caldwell parish, was a devoted Christian mother. Her influence will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew her.

She is survived by four sons: W. A. Fisher of ward one, Thomas Fisher of Mt. Pleasant community, Quinton R. Fisher, police jury member of ward five, Sherman Fisher of Shreveport; five daughters: Mrs. Lula Rester, Mrs. Alda Chapman, Mrs. Lois Nichols of Mt. Pleasant and ward five communities; Mrs. Thelma Volentine of ward two, and Mrs. Nobie Smith of Hebert; one brother, Mr. Quinton Reitzell of near Kelly; 22 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves many friends all over Caldwell parish who regret to hear of her passing, but all realize our loss is heaven's gain.
