The body was recovered late yesterday afternoon about 50 feet from the place where the man fell into the river. Men had worked ceaselessly for more than 24 hours, dragging the river to recover the body. The American Legion truck and the Red Cross emergency truck were both on the scene with squads of men who worked up to the time success crowned efforts exerted.
While searching with grappling hooks in the water about 35 feet deep, Henry Taylor, 20, and Frank Mobley, 17, Columbia lads, recovered the body from the bottom of the river.
Mr. Fisher is survived by his widow, one child, his parents and two brothers.
