Loren married Reva Pauline Pyle and together they had two daughters, Geraldine and Sally with 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Loren and his family were active members of the Christian Church and belonged to the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star.

Following the death of Loren's brother Leo and his wife Fern, Loren and Reva cared for two of Leo's daughters, Shirley and Anna Lee. The older daughter, Jolene went to live with another relative.
Loren was Salina City Marshall and County Under-Sheriff serving with his brother Guy.
He was buried with his wife Reva. His brother Guy, is also buried in Roselawn.Loren

Loren was the seventh of eight children born to Sarah Lucinda Hedrick Lemon and Ross Lemon. His siblings were Guy, Esther, Irene, Glenn Dewey, Erma, Ruby and Leo.
When Loren was not yet three years old, his father died. His mother, Sallie, took the family to Mott, North Dakota, where Sallie's sister lived. In 1911, Sallie applied for a homestead. Her application was granted and signed by President Wm. Howard Taft.
Sallie and Guy built a sod house on this homestead and lived there for some time before moving to the nearby town of Mott.
During the years the family spent in and near Mott, they endured many hardships.
In 1923, his brother Guy was offered a job in Salina, Kansas, where the family then settled. His mother died the following year.
