Peter Alfred Hammer was born to Peder and Ingeborg Hammer, April 19, 1879, on the Hammer homestead a couple of miles northeast of Norway, Kan.
He married Minnie Summers in 1901. They were blessed with a son, Clarence Allen Hammer.
On January 3, 1917, he was married to Esther Ross. To this union four daughters were born, Naomi, (Mrs. Leonard Barleen), Evelyn (Mrs. Max Wagor), Elnora (Mrs. John Whitney) and Anita (Mrs. Roger Coppage). Besides his parents, four brothers have preceeded him in death, Jonas, Pete, Lars and Ole and one sister, Mrs. Anne Hugos.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Esther, of the home, one son and four daughters, two sisters, Mrs, Karen Ross, and Mrs. Albertina Eastvedt, also a sister-in-law Mrs. P. P. Hammer, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Interment was in the Norway Cemetery.
