Edith Jane Diehl Hutchens, 80, of 38 Greenview Drive, died Sunday afternoon, (April 25, 1993) at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1913 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of Charles Ernest and Lillie (Roadcap) Diehl. Mrs. Hutchens had retired from Croyden Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Wanda J. Butler of Luray and Vivian W. Glaze and Joyce A. Randolph, both of Herndon; three sons, Owen D. and Willis F. Hutchens, both of Richmond, and Clarence E. Hutchens of Buchanan; five sisters, Nellie Carroll and Janet Patiences, both of Staunton, Ina McCormick and Wanda Lester, both of Waynesboro, and Lillian Farrar of Richmond; and 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Walter Franklin Hutchens, died on Oct. 23, 1991.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Olivet Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Joseph C. Brandon. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Charles A. Butler Jr., T. Sean and Brooke T. Glaze, Diron S. Hutchens, Domnic Marzullo and Dr. Gayien S. Johnson, a grandson-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 tonight at the Hamrick Funeral Home.
