William Berney Dies Saturday--
Funeral services for William Berney, 62 of Wolbach, were held Wednesday, July 26 at 10:30 AM in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach with the Rev. Donald Nelson officiating. Mr. Berney died July 22 at Wolbach.
Mrs. Victor Grossart and Mrs. Larry Steenson sang "The Lord is my Shepherd" and "Take my Hand, Precious Lord" accompanied by the organist Mrs. William Paulman, Jr.
Casketbearers were Clarence Allen, Darl Studley, Dale Wadsworth, Marvin Christensen, Carl Lange and Henry Henningsen. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach.
McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
William Berney was born February 9, 1916 at Wolbach, the son of John A. and Emma Imus Berney. He attended rural schools near Wolbach and grew to manhood in the area. William had worked at various farms in the Wolbach area.
He departed this life Saturday, July 22, 1978 at his home in Wolbach at the age of 62 years.
Survivors include six brothers, Frank of Woodburn, Oregon, Austin, Ivan and Laurence all of Wolbach, Lowell of Cameron, Missouri and Carroll of Georgia; and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Raymond, Reed and Earl.
