Laurence Berney Services Monday --

Funeral services for Laurence E. Berney were held Monday, September 28 at 10:30 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church at Wolbach with the Rev. Henry Yurk officiating. Mrs. Larry Steenson and Mrs. Victor Grossart sang "How Great Thou Art: and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" accompanied by Mrs. William Paulman, Jr. at the organ.

Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach. Active casketbearers were Bill J. Grossart, Rex Berney, Dwayne Berney, John Berney, Roger Berney and Dick Berney. Honorary casketbearers were Dale Wadsworth, Denny Wadsworth, Mike McIntyre, Lyle Bergantzel, Howard Allen, Clarence Allen and Marvin Christensen.

McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home at Wolbach was in charge of arrangements.

Laurence E. Berney, son of John A. and Emma Imus Berney, was born January 22, 1915 near Wolbach. He departed from this life on September 25, 1981 at St. Paul at the age of 66 years.

Laurence received his education at Wolbach rural school and grew to manhood on the family farm. Laurence then made his home on a farm near Wolbach.

On June 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Willa Grossart in Pocatello, Idaho. The couple returned to Wolbach and farmed in that area until ill health forced Laurence to retire in 1979.

He is survived by his widow, Willa of Wolbach; five brothers, Frank, Austin and Ivan, all of Wolbach, Lowell of Cameron, Missouri and Carroll of Clifton Hill, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Raymond, Reed, Earl and William.
