Erroll Berney Dies Friday, 57 --

Erroll Berney, 57, well-known Wolbach carpenter, died early Friday morning at the hospital, St. Paul. He had entered Thursday afternoon. He had been critically ill for the past several weeks and was released from the hospital at Blair a week previously to return home.

Erroll Odell Berney was born June 19, 1906 on a farm in Greeley County, the son of Emma and John A. Berney. He lived all his life in the Wolbach community. He and Mary Horn were married July 26, 1926 at Grand Island.

He was a carpenter -- a trade that he was known for far and wide in all types of construction.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, and 9 children, John, serving in the US Navy in Argentia, New Foundland; Mrs. Dorothy Bayless, Lincoln; Mrs. Carole Nelson, Fort Calhoun; Mrs. Nadene Weiseman, Phoenix, Ariz; Mrs. Marilyn Todd, Carson, Iowa; Dwayne, Dale and Ronnie of Omaha and Mrs. Beverly Newquist, Cedar Rapids; 7 brothers, Frank, Austin, Laurence and Bill of Wolbach; Ivan of Norfolk, VA; Lowell of Galt, Mo and Carroll of Higginsville, MO and 26 grandchildren.
