R. H. Cole, 81, Resident Here 79 Years, Dies

Robert H. Cole, 81, who came from his native Bozeman to Livingston with his parents when he was but two years of age and resided in this area continuously died Thursday, March 8, in Butte. As a young man he ranched near Clyde Park and then Willow Creek prior to homesteading in the Crazy Mountain area. Later, he ranched near Springdale, selling his ranch there in 1950, and purchasing one near Manhattan. He retired, in June, 1950, returned here and made his home at 711 North Second.

Surviving are his widow, the former Jessie Gibson whom he married Aug. 21, 1911, at Big Timber; several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Eleanor, and seven brothers and sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Gurnett chapel with the Rev. George Sanders officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.

Joyce Mosback, Helen Waldum and Margaret Heinrich provided the music. Pallbearers were Raleigh Curtiss of Billings, Dee Cole and Ford Gilbert of Clyde Park, Lester Gilbert of Big Timber, Bud Gibson of Springdale and Eric Teichert of Livingston.
