Alfred Cole, one of the old time residents of Park county, died at his home on Shields river last Friday morning after a protracted illness. Mr. Cole was 68 years of age and his death was due to a complication of diseases which had rendered his health very poor for some time.

The deceased came to Livingston from Missouri in 1890 and by unfailing energy and thrifty pursuits had accumulated considerable property.

The funeral took place Sunday from the Rock Creek church and the last sad rites were administered by Rev. Gordon and Rev. V. F. Clark. A large concourse of friends followed the remains to the Rock Creek cemetery, where the interment took place.

The death of Mr. Cole widows a wife and leaves fatherless a family of five girls and four boys. Mrs. J. L. Poorman and Mrs. Frank Bender are two of the daughters, and the remaining children make their home on the ranch on Shields river.

The deceased was one of Park county's most estimable citizens and in his death this commonwealth loses a resident whose enterprise and energy set an example that all might follow with profit.
