Barbara Corkrean, 91, of Winterset, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Winterset Care Center North.

A visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 29 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Burial will be in the McDonald-Chase Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset.

Barbara Viola McDonald was born September 12, 1928, the daughter of William and Gladys (Clark) McDonald. She married Phillip Corkrean in August of 1947 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. He preceded her in death in 1992.

Barb was a homemaker most of her life. Along with her husband Phil, they raised ten children. She was a woman of service, always taking care of her kids and grandkids.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a lifelong member of Tops and enjoyed volunteering at the Madison County Historical Museum. Barb loved to get out of town and travel to as many places as possible with her family. You could often find her walking around town and visiting with everyone she met. She also enjoyed, bowling, gambling, going to ballgames of her children and grandchildren, and the Cubs.

She is survived by her children, Mike Corkrean, Tim (Sherry) Corkrean, Peggy (Dan) Harry, Jim (Chris) Corkrean, Julie (Keith) Wheeler, Mary (Jim) Allen, Jenny (Cindy) Corkrean, Joe Corkrean, Paul (Tammy) Corkrean, and Teresa (Mike) Thompson; 44 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Viola and Barb McDonald, Shirley, Pat and Mary Corkrean; brothers-in-law, Pat (Nancy) Corkrean and Larry (Debbie) Corkrean.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phil; brothers, Wayne, Scott (Mary), Whitey (Martha), Paul, Melvin (Charlene), Deke (Dixie), Jim (Bev); her sister, Zola (Harry) Haigh; daughter-in-law, Tina Corkrean; brothers-in-law, Gene and John Corkrean; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Carl) Neal and Sue Corkrean; and her in-laws James and Frances Corkrean.
