Funeral services for Mr. Carl Brown, 87, of the Baptist Ridge Community of Overton County, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2000, from the chapel of the Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home of Cookeville with Bro. Chris Coil officiating. Burial was in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr.Brown, a retired farmer and machine operator, died December 1, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born November 6, 1913, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Henry and Florence (Rich) Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Schraumm Brown.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennie Louise May, Fairfield Glade; three sisters, Rose Smith, Hilham, Marian Fannon, Ohio, and Josie Carmack, Indiana; four brothers, Ather Brown, Sparta, Edward Brown, Nashville, Cecil Brown, Mont-erey, and Oscar Brown, Cookeville; three grandchildren, Gregory May, Jeff May and Annette May Franco; and two great grandchildren, Lauren Franco and Heather May.
