Independent, quiet until she got to know you, and often ornery in a fun way, Marion greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors. She especially enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She also loved walking and hiking. She was known to walk great distances on the city sidewalks, hike nature trails, and even enjoy the park-like setting of cemetery grounds. In her younger days, she enjoyed crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1995; her son, Harlon Moss; parents, William "Billy" and Mollie Florence Brown; and fourteen siblings, Clura Paul Brown, Willie Hugh Brown, Orangie Brown, Rose Bulah Brown, Cecil Brown, Carl Brown, Palo Brown, Truman Brown, Rile Brown, Athur Brown, Edward Brown, Oscar Brown, Jossie May Brown, and Clifford Brown. She is survived by one son, Kenny Horton (Gerty); one daughter, Judy Sheets; 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 12, at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
