Herman E. Floyd, 76, of 430 W. Placher Court died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at his home. Born Feb. 8, 1922, in Wayne County to George and Flossie Root Floyd, he married Naomi Fitch on July 5, 1947, in Cisne. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Steven of Clinton; two daughters, Susan Thom of Romeoville and Kathleen Floyd of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, John of Mount Erie and Orville of Springfield; and one sister, Delean Richardson of Evansville, Ind. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
A World War II Army Infantry veteran, he served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4999.
