Ople Joyce "Bill" Floyd, 86, Brownsburg, died Friday, November 22, in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Born July 8, 1905 at Mount Erie, Illinois, he was the son of George and Lillie Orr Floyd. July 17, 1976, he married Bernice L. Campbell, who survives. Mr. Floyd, an Army veteran of World War II, had been a cook and bartender for several years at Frank & Mary's Restaurant, Pittsboro, retiring in 1971. Services were Monday, November 25, in David A. Hall Mortuary, Brownsburg. Rev Steve Reeves officiated, with burial in Brownsburg Cemetery. Surviving with his wife are stepson, George Henderson; sisters, DeLean Richards, Junita Jacobs [as spelled in obituary]; half brothers, Orval, John and Herman Floyd; two grandchildren, five great-granddaughters, and one great-great-granddaughter.
