James Ambric Wallace, Sr. was born in Plumerville, Arkansas on April 2, 1914. He was the 9th of 11 children of Sidney Wallace and Amelia Broughton Wallace.

James married Lillie V. Johnson in the spring of 1942 and together they had five children of which two, Comilla Wallace and Elger Fatchiel Wallace, preceded him in death. He was a quiet man who preferred to walk when he desired to go somewhere.

Among the places James worked were the Tulsa Country Club, American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and McDonald-Douglas in Long Beach, California.

He is survived by a sister, Bernie Louise Wallace Moore and her husband Charlie, of Tulsa; a daughter, Sandra A. Watson and husband Donald, of Tulsa; two sons, James Ambric Wallace, Jr., and wife Patricia, of Tulsa; Glen Edward Wallace of Augusta, TGeorgia; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
