Ruby Lee Wallace Ponds was the fifth of 16 children born to Amelia Broughton and Sydney Edward Wallace.

She married Otis Dean Ponds October 21, 1928, in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sandy C. Ponds of Oklahoma.

Ruby died from prolonged childbirth withher sister Bernia by her side. The was the mother of six children: Odessa Ponds, Otis Dean Ponds, Delores "Katy" Ponds Gay, Q. D. Ponds, Ella Delores Ponds Johnson and Perry Andrew Ponds.
